Rudy’s Spring Truck Jam came into 2026 with momentum. By the time the weekend wrapped up at Rockingham Dragway, it was obvious the event had taken a serious step forward.

Attendance was way up from last year, and you could feel it the second you rolled through the gates. The pits stayed packed all weekend, fans filled the bleachers from early morning until the final rounds, and every corner of the property felt busy. Add in near-perfect North Carolina weather, and the entire weekend landed exactly the way an event like this should. Sunny skies, cool mornings, warm afternoons, diesel smoke hanging over the facility, and race fuel in the air. Nobody was complaining.

Even better, the track program stayed moving. For an event packed with high-horsepower trucks, burnout rigs, dyno runs, and drifting, things stayed surprisingly clean. No major oil downs, no endless cleanup delays, no sitting around wondering when racing would finally resume. The track prep held up all weekend, and racers rewarded it by leaning on their combinations harder every round, which showed up immediately in the timeslips.

The 5.90 class turned into one of the tightest fights of the weekend, with Brett Marcum ultimately taking the win after a stacked field kept fans glued to the track round after round. Matt Santjer also drew plenty of attention in his M57-powered BMW 335d, continuing to prove just how capable the platform can be against far more traditional diesel race vehicles. Watching a full-weight diesel BMW making clean, competitive passes in the middle of a diesel truck event never really stops being impressive.

Over in 6.70, Steve Robbins picked up his first-ever win behind the wheel of his owner-built third-gen Cummins after a brutal shootout in one of the weekend’s most competitive classes, and Pro Truck brought plenty of fireworks too.

Justin Zeigler not only grabbed the win, but also ripped off a new personal best with a 4.55-second eighth-mile pass at 170 mph in his ’06 Dodge. Austin Doidge laid down a fresh PB of his own with a 4.70 at 154 mph in his rebuilt second-gen, while Brian Jelich pushed his 7.3L combination to a 5.13 at 136 mph, setting a new 4×4 7.3L record in the process.

One of the biggest crowd moments came when Rudy’s Performance Parts rolled out its all-new Pro Mod Mustang for public shakedown passes. Powered by a billet-block 6.4L Power Stroke combination, the car instantly became one of the most talked-about vehicles at the event. Every time it moved toward the lanes, people stopped what they were doing to watch.

The platform itself is ambitious enough to grab attention, but seeing it finally make passes in front of a hometown crowd gave the whole thing a different level of energy. The Rudy’s crew clearly still has development work ahead of them, but the debut alone was enough to make people start wondering just how fast the car is eventually going to go.

Away from the drag strip, the rest of the property stayed active all weekend. The burnout competition brought massive crowds and enough tire smoke to cover half the county. Blessed Performance kept the dyno busy, while X Comp Tires helped support drift ride-alongs that stayed packed from start to finish. And then there were the trucks themselves.

Rudy’s Spring Truck Jam 2026

More than anything, this year’s Spring Truck Jam felt complete. The updated event schedule kept things flowing smoothly, the weather couldn’t have been better, and the overall atmosphere felt bigger than previous years in every way. Racers were pushing for records. Fans stayed engaged all weekend. Vendors stayed busy, and nobody wanted to leave early.

By Sunday afternoon, most people were sunburned, exhausted, and already talking about next year on the walk back to their trucks. Honestly, that’s usually how you know an event got it right.
