Girls Gone Diesel – Part 1

Who said diesels are just for guys? Sure, the majority of features you see here in Diesel World are trucks owned by guys, but there are quite a few women diesel enthusiasts out there who are just as passionate about their rigs as the boys are. So based on the overwhelming response from our Facebook page requesting photos of diesel gals and their rides, Diesel World Magazine is proud to present the first ever Girls Gone Diesel section.

Chelsey Henning

2007.5 Chevrolet Duramax

 Hailing from Ontario, Canada

Hailing from Ontario, Canada, Chelsey uses her LMM Duramax for both work and play. The truck is fitted with a 6-inch Pro Comp suspension and 37-inch Toyo Open Country tires wrapped around 20-inch XD series wheels tucked by Bushwacker fender flares.

Power mods include a 5-inch MBRP turbo back exhaust system, EFI Live tuning with a DSP5 unit and EGR block-off. The truck also sports FabFour bumpers, Rigid Industries LED lighting, an RBP grille and AFE diff covers.

On the inside, things are just as custom with black leather seating and dash kit from ECD Customs, along with full gauges. Future plans include more lift and a custom paint job.

Ashley Denton

2001 Dodge Ram 2500

Who says girls can’t own 11-second hot rod diesels? Ashley Denton of Evening Shade, Arkansas, owns a Ram that’s chock-full of go-fast goodies. According to Ashley, the truck has been a six-year build and once she got bit by the drag racing bug, it was game on. According to Ashley, It also helped that she married a diesel mechanic.

The 24-valve features a Scheid Diesel P-Pump conversion, SDX injectors and an AirDog 200 to feed the system from a 10-gallon bed-mounted fuel cell. A Scheid camshaft further adds to the power mix. ARP head studs holding things together while an S475/83/90 turbo mounted on an ATS exhaust manifold provides plenty of boost. Backing up the 24-valve is a custom billet automatic featuring a Goerend billet triple-disc 2,500 stall torque converter with billet input shaft. Shifting in the cab is via a B&M Stealth pro ratchet shifter while a MagHytec deep sump pan and twin Hayden trans coolers help keep things cool.

The Dodge rolls on M&H Racemaster slicks mounted on 16×10 Renegade 8 wheels. Finishing touches including full Auto Meter instrumentation and a 6,000-rpm dash cluster from a gas truck.

 Chelsey Grayson

2006 Dodge Ram

Owning a truck for both work and play is the best of both worlds, according to Chelsey Grayson of Watkinsville, Georgia. She and her husband own C&D Transport and they both own diesel Dodges. Hers is a 2006 Ram with a Rancho leveling kit to make room for 20×9-inch Akuza Bounce 8 wheels wrapped with 35-inch ProComp Extreme A/Ts.

The 5.9L Cummins gets help in the power department from EFI Live tuning and a 5-inch turbo-back exhaust. A cold air intake provides fresh air on the inlet side of the turbo. A DiPricol boost and pyro gauges keep track of vitals.

To be continued…stay tuned!
