Page 4 of 4 The Power Edge Hot Juice kit includes the power control module (PCM), wire harness, pyrometer probe, attitude monitor, all necessary hardware, and complete installation instructions. RBP Gives our Chevy the Edge Rolling Big Power of Lake Forest, Calif., installed an Edge five-power-level programmable computer chip into our '04 Chevy 6.65L Duramax. The guys who know diesels call this custom chip the "hot juice." According to RBP boss Roland Trudell, "We don't usually sell the hot juice to our regular customers. The unit is custom manufactured by Edge, but only for those who want maximum horsepower and torque out of the GM Duramax." There are different variations and calibration settings depending upon your needs or thrill factor, each tapping into the ECU calculations and changing the information accordingly to eventually create more power. The installation is very easy and comes with a trick mounting unit that can be mounted wherever you like. After installing, we put the truck on the dyno for a final run and were amazed to see a whopping gain of 135 horsepower to the rear wheels (from 270 with air intake and exhaust to 405 hp) at 2,600 rpm. Those are some serious rear wheel numbers by anyone's standards! The accompanying photos show the highlights of the installation performed by RBP technician Franck Darnell. Check them out. Franck then plugs the Edge connections into the factory harness, following the enclosed directions. The Edge intercepts information from the factory ECU then modifies it to whatever parameter settings you've selected from the programmer. | The protective strips over the adhesive are removed in preparation for sticking the juice in permanent position usually on top of the factory fuse box cover. | The Edge wiring harness is fed through the doorjamb or you can use a preexisting port hole through the firewall into the engine compartment. | Franck prepares the adhesive backing of the mounting bracket for the attitude monitor. | The monitor is applied to the bracket and stuck in place. | The wiring harness is pulled through the fender well or firewall to couple with the module wiring under the hood. | Franck completes the final connection under the hood with one simple click. | A hole is drilled in the exhaust manifold and threaded for the pyro probe. The pyrometer is installed and the stock inner fender well is reinstalled. | Franck reconnects the battery, programs the Edge attitude monitor, and the installation is complete. | With Air Intake System | With Air Intake System, RBP's 4-Inch Exhaust System | With Air Intake System, RBP's 4-inch exhaust system and juice module |
